Sausage Sale

During the Open House picnic, there were sausages leftover, therefore Mr. Burnside suggested us to sale it to the students so they are not wasted. The activity was arranged by the High School Student Council. What I learned most is marketing and ways to “fool” the customers in order to gain more profit. We sold around 300RMB during the sausage sale, and sold most of it. In the beginning, we already relied on the poster (with price and title), and people thought the price was too expensive. We decided to increase number of sales by approaching customers before they see the price. This was a lot more effective because there are psychological impacts. When we approach customers, they tend to not emphasize on the price because the sellers say a lot of banters to distract the customer. It was effective because we gained much more money. Thus, I learned that being active not only brings in more customers but it can distract them from always focusing on the price.

The CAS outcomes is mostly collaborating with others. We needed some people to focus on grilling, some focus on distributing the sausages to buyers, the money collectors, and the advertisers. I believe we organized this pretty well because everyone (Student Council members) who was there contributed in selling.
