NHS - New Student Orientation
On the day before school, some of the NHS members and Student Council members arrived at school to welcome the new students. There was an orientation and we were responsible for guiding the parents to meeting spots and show become the buddy for a new student. I introduced myself to a new student in Grade 9, but I did not need to show her around since she already met some of her classmates in the same grade. When the school started, each NHS member had to take on a project and work with an external member. My project was to design a NHS shirt for the internal and external members; therefore, I decided to ask my buddy whether she would be interested in helping me. I believe that was one of the best ways to make her feel included in the XIS community because she is already taking on a project for the students in school, plus she was interested in fashion designing.
The experience was not very difficult and everything went on naturally. We would wave and say hi to each other in the hallways even though we do not talk on a daily basis.
